About us
Fox and Hound Theatre Company are a small disabled and/or neurodiverse touring company from Dumfries and Galloway, South West Scotland. We were founded in 2015 and are excited to be celebrating our 10th anniversary this year.
Fox and Hound Theatre was formed out of a limited local arts scene and a desire to write and create work. Creating work can be difficult when you face many barriers, such as living rurally, class and disability but we are here to show that it is possible to produce quality work that is relevant, engaging and exciting.
We are dedicated to showcasing a diverse range of productions including new
writing, site-specific performances, comedy musicals, classic works, never shying away from strong themes and issues. Our work includes a variety of production types, exploring, comedy (script, stand up and sketch), site specific, promenade, musical, art, absurdist and realism. We are driven by a desire to communicate through theatre, to offer ‘theatre for all’ by keeping costs as low as possible and to work towards greater accessibility.
We have toured throughout the UK, presenting performances in venues of all sizes. Having our own technical equipment means that we can stage our shows anywhere. We are also developing our skills within immersive technologies to enhance shows and what our understanding of what they can be.
Currently, we are excited to develop our inaugural musical, "Glen of Echoes" which is a Trad/Rock story of Culloden and the real people affected by the conflict. We have just completed another tour of ‘A Trio of Tennessee Williams’ and are about to embark on a tour of an original play called Because We Said We Would. Don’t worry, both productions are available to tour again, just get in touch and we can chat.
We welcome all projects and love connecting with our audiences, so please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like to learn more!
